upgraded my two-year-old N6610 to SE608i yesterday. still in the process to adjust my fingers to its navigation and keypad now.

was introduced to this fruit by a friend few weeks back. I found it in one of ntuc shelves, now I know it's called winter dates, produced in China. when it ripens its color changes from light green to brown, with sugary-sweet taste, apple-like texture.

paid a dentist a long overdue visit. it's a painful one, esp. for my bank account. dental care is such an expensive business here it's ridiculous. consultation without any treatment costs $30. scaling plus polishing for $50. additional topical fluoride costs another $30. there goes my hundred bucks (after 10% discount from company I'm currently working for). I'll still need to come back another time for filling treatment. I got 4 half-grown wisdom teeth and I guess all of them are to be extracted, sooner or later. wondering why they're there in the first place, when growing them is already a painful process, cleaning them is a tedious one, and they can be considered useless they'll end up decaying and have to be removed.. I'd only know whether it's necessary to do surgery after an x-ray, and surgery for one tooth alone costs $600.. *stare helplessly*.. I'd rather do it in my hometown then, for around Rp.600,000 per tooth. for one tooth extracted here I'll get 4 teeth there plus return air ticket..

went to ikea this evening. my main mission was to eat their famous swedish meatballs.. yum! tempted to buy the chicken wings as well and regretted it afterwards, 'cos I was so full already. I guess my teeth are not as clean anymore now, with pieces of meatballs and chicken wings stuck in between.. =D

ganti 'kulit' pake versi minimalis. kulit yg lama baru bentar sih umurnya, tapi bosen aja. skarang udah ga ada gambar bunga lagi, in fact ga ada gambar sama skali.. benernya sih ini daur ulang dari kulit jaman dulu.. daripada bikin dari scratch.

btw, belakangan dingin banget yah. serasa kayak di bandung. tiap hari ujan, jalanan becek, bikin jempol kaki basah + jorok.

harry potter and the goblet of fire was not as magical as what I had in mind. it was below my high expectation.. =( one wouldn't be able to follow the 2.5-hour movie if no read-up was done beforehand. the movie was too choppy in order to accomodate the oh-so-thick book, and everything revolved around the triwizard tournament. the book is much better.

went to a post-production party of the 5-minute movie competition winner. they produced a parody of kungfu hustle. food and drink were provided. headed to balaclava next for a drink and some live music. seriously speaking, I wouldn't go to this kind of places on my own, spending my hard-earned money plus time for the overpriced drinks. but in the name of socializing plus after-exam syndrome, it's legalized.. ;) the place was almost deserted before 2am and we went to have some peppery ba kut teh. it's really peppery, all I could taste was the pepper.. =) finally reached home at 3.15am.

obviously, I skipped the 9am mass this morning.

what made today special:
- birthday treat from colleagues at ichiban sushi. chose the salmon fried set, I guess I still prefer yoshinoya's one.. =) but the sushi's great.
- made pineapple tart after refraining from kitchen for the longest time.
- refused to hang out with a friend and hit the gym instead.. ran + walked for 6 laps. planned to exercise regularly at least for this month.
- secured movie passes to watch harry potter tomorrow! *grin*

finally managed to catch flightplan the movie. this is the 3rd week of the show, so luckily I still had a chance to make full use of the free movie passes..

it's a story about a mother's frantic search for her daughter who's lost in a plane. everyone claimed that she hallucinated and there's no daughter at all. I was thinking of how dreadful it'd be if at the end of the show it's revealed that the mother was actually imagining things.

one thing bothered me, though. after the emergency landing, why would the villain who have stepped out of the plane and could just nicely concluded his plan, turned back and went into the plane and ended up playing cat-and-mouse game?

it's over.. it's over.. lalalala..

I wish I don't need to go to work tomorrow.

one paper is already done, one more to go! I expected quite a few changes in this exam period, as it's said that adjustments are being made to exam practices to go towards informality. this semester however, beside the weird timing (6.30-9.30 in the evening, my first thought when reading the schedule was it's a typo!) and the uncommon venues (lecture theatres and even furama hotel), nothing much has been changed. oh, one more thing, there's no more seat allocation, we're free to choose any seats we like, within the designated area.

resistant to changes that I am, there's always something to complain about the new arrangements.. =) the weird timing left me agitated from morning, unable to take a nap (for this I guess I should have tried to sleep while holding some lecture notes, that should work), and had dinner as early as 5pm. then the tables in lecture theatre are so small they barely fit the answer booklet, let alone the question papers, stationaries and matric card..

yeah, finally I've submitted the final report on critical inquiry. good thing is, there's no more chance for our supervisors to ask for additional things.. =)

was actually planning to watch flightplan tomorrow after work, so as not to waste my free movie passes, courtesy of citylink mall. too bad there is a conference call with vendor scheduled on the same day and I've got the permission not to join in with legitimate reason of studying for exam.. *grin*.. so I'd feel guilty to go for movie instead. really hope that the movie is still shown next week.

I was really considering to withdraw from the church choir if they keep asking us to come that inhumanly early.

before I even read my horoscope in this week's magazine, which said something about the need to have more patience and tolerance for other people, I already knew I need to work on it urgently. most feasible one is to lower down my expectations on what others should do. have to make it lower, much, much, lower. if I've nothing (or almost nothing) to expect from them, then there should be no reason for me to get irritated at all. well, that's the theory. I don't believe in horoscope, anyway.

I had 3 birthday cakes this year!! they complement each other nicely, no overlapping - from left to right: mango ice cream cake, berries cake (strawberry, raspberry, blueberry) and cheesecake.

I'm thinking of putting up a photo compilation of the day.. but not until a friend whose camera was used is kind enough to send the photos to me.
