surprisingly, orchard road and bugis junction were not as crowded as what I've expected. had lunch and went for a free facial session at orchard, followed by shopping session at bugis junction. funny how difficult it is to find something you seriously like, the moment you are actually looking for it.
it's amazing how much abuse an ipod nano could endure. read the stress report here.

bummer. have been wanting to take a few days' MC to get myself off office work for the longest time, but I ended up having running nose and slight fever today. today, of all days, in the middle of a really long weekend.. *sigh*
anyway, tried magma, the german wine bistro, yesterday night. a private dining place with cozy setting and ambience. great food, good service.

went to innovationation this evening. it's an exhibition to celebrate 25 years of infocomm in singapore. they divide the exhibition into 12 sections, each with different hightlight. terrific. registration is required, which makes the visit personal for everyone, since the ID cards given at the entrance store our identities. all's so great and futuristic inside, but the lucky draw booth which happened to be the last, used the manual way, paper and pens. well, time to get back to reality.. ;)

some random posts..
secured seats for phantom of the opera. can't imagine buying tickets 6 months in advance. pretty insane.
celebrated the mid-autumn with a prata party on friday night with the usual makan gang at the prata house upper thomson rd. had prata with cheese, mushroom and egg. few pieces of indian rojak, followed by paper prata with ice cream and ice teh tarik. imho, the paper prata pales in comparison with the tissue prata at bukit timah stall. check out the photos here. (ps. cewe.. thanks foto2nya)
however the full moon does not look as bright.. blame it on the haze courtesy of indonesian forest fires. it's getting thicker by day and it's worrying.
went to vivo city today to catch scoop the movie. it's super crowded. singapore just can't get enough of shopping malls :) sadly not all stores were opened. the movie itself was entertaining although it's not that spectacular.

tried the famous botak burger at ang mo kio foodcourt. managed to avoid the crowd. at 7pm onwards the queue became longer and longer. the botak burger claimed to offer authentic american food.. damn good food at damn good price.. and merchandise too.
regular cajun chicken set at $6.50

botak burger set meal at $5.50. the beef patty is really home made. once cut, it looks like minced beef.. :) really thick and yummy.

watched haydn's the creation at esplanade's concert hall on friday, performed by SSO and combined choir of 3 prominent singapore choir groups. the choir was so big, they occupied more than half of the stage. all were dressed in black, except the soprano soloist who was in pink. magnificent.
tried thai express' thai-style calamari for supper. they did it differently from the normal calamari. instead of ring-shaped, they cut it in squares, had them fried and poured sauce plus sesame on it.. chewy.. succulent.. mmm..
