watching asian idol result show right now, although I missed the singing performances last night. the phillipines idol looks like tika panggabean.

had brunch at rio brazilian restaurant. for brunch the menu comprised of 7 items of chef's choice. we had bacon-wrapped chicken breast, chicken wings, pineapple cinnamon, pork sausages, honey ham, beef hump, and dory fish - all lined up nicely on skewers, ready to be served. excellent meat selections - the pork sausages were really juicy, dory fish and beef were tender. my fave was the pineapple cinnamon, it's a wonderful combination of the sourness from the warm, juicy pineapple slices and the sweetness from the sprinkled sugar + cinnamon. yum!

the variety of their salad bar was quite limited, though - compared to other brazilian churrascaria - they had tomato soup, garden salad, potato salad, mango salad, fruit salad, butter rice, fried potato chunks, oysters, sliced watermelon.

the restaurant offers indoor seating with aircons, and outdoor sections facing the green pond with trees and torches. we were the only customers there during brunch hour (11.30am-2.30pm), they are definitely more busy during dinner time. so we were given special attention with the friendly and helpful chef and waiters approaching us to offer the meat selections personally, without us having to call or wave at them :)

I remembered reading that tea or coffee are included in the brunch menu, however we were charged $4 for each cup when settling the bill at the cashier. and we were not even given the option of what tea flavour we'd like to have - english breakfast was served once we said we'd prefer tea to coffee. this has somehow marred the good impression that we had with the eatery.
