went with a friend for a free trial class at one popular yoga club in town. we attended the 1 hour gentle yoga class, which was quite relaxing. the facilities that they have are quite impressive - different studios for various kinds of yoga.

but shortly after, we were subjected to an endless sales talk. they kept our IC so there's no way we could run away from them. Their packages are expensive, and to make full use of it we'd have to come down at least twice a week, not to mention the distance.

we gave them lots of reasons. we even proposed a "package-sharing" which I was sure they wouldn't allow. but the salesperson promptly approached his manager and he simply agreed to this "exceptional" case.

some funny things that I noticed: they don't have termination policy - there seems to be no way you can terminate once you sign up; their hardsell approach - a good package speaks for itself, there's no point for you to hardsell, it will just piss off the prospective customers; the super expensive registration and membership fee are waived just like that - makes me wonder why it's there in the first place; the "good deal" they offer looks like only valid for that night, they didn't allow us to "consider" - if it is really good, people will surely get back to them.

the sales talk lasted much longer than the yoga session itself. I should have done my homework before even saying yes to their trial class. A simple search in google shows lots of complaints and warnings from that club's customers.. lucky we managed to escape without signing up!
