finally finished reading the 1325-page uncut version of Stephen King's The Stand.

in the beginning it was just like a normal world. then the plague came, a really bad super flu that wiped off almost the entire population. the immune people decided to move on and search for other human being to finally form a community. then they started to have dreams. two kinds of dreams that eventually drew them to either the good or the evil force.

it was a really satisfying read, although the ending was quite predictable. well, evil forces couldn't just vanish into thin air and disappear forever, could they?

I am not the potter, not the potter's wheel, but the potter's clay; is not the value of the shape attained as dependent upon the intrinsic worth of the clay as upon the wheel and the Master's skill? (stephen king, the stand)
