went to shaw tower, aiming to try out thai food at ah loy thai and also ice cream at tom's palette. managed to locate ah loy thai from the map plus shop directory. although open only at 1pm, and we reached there a little past one, most of the tables were already occupied. we grabbed a table, ordered our food, and tadaa.. realized that tom's palette's located directly opposite ah loy thai.. how convenient.

since we're told that the food would take 25 mins, we had ice cream first for appetizer - nuts & such, salted caramel cheesecake, rum & raisin, oreo cheesecake. yummy! at $2.50 for small scoop, we could choose 2 flavors.

the food arrived soon after that. had the standard thai fare - phad thai (quite nice although looks a bit pale) and pineapple rice (almost tasteless, couldn't taste the pineapple and tasted more like chinese fried rice). their homemade lemongrass tea was refreshing, and so was the romitt or thai traditional chendol.
