Finally, we had the long overdue pempek party, woohoo!
A friend of mine has generously organized it at her house while arranging for the ordering and collection of the goodies at the same time. As the person who made the pempek is not business-minded, she made this only when she can find suitable fish and has the time to do so. Everything is homemade, handmade, down to the black sauce.
For the originality, the quality, the taste and the price, it's definitely worth it! We ordered 10 pieces of the kapal selem (literally translated as submarine pempek, haha! - at $2 each) and 25 pieces of the small ones (with choices of pempek kriting, adaan and lenjer - at $1 each). We also added the yellow noodles and cucumber pieces to complete the feast. The meal was absolutely fulfilling! *smack our lips*
Oh, and we had otak-otak as side dishes too. yum!
