was quite annoyed yesterday as the air tickets we've been eyeing for a while was no longer available. To think that just the day before i could have just easily bought it, but did not do so for some reasons. After another round of discussion with the relevant parties we decided to change the dates. And it turned out there's a new fare deal for that dates, $1k cheaper than the original one. Woot!! Every cloud has a silver lining, indeed.
So our next holiday is set! :)
Update:
It turned out the ticket purchase process was not as smooth as desired. The five star airline is currently famous of having teething issues after they revamped their website sometime back. When we entered passengers' details it kept prompting that names can not exceed 34 chars. And it led to us paying extra $30 for correcting a name. And we also needed to fax a copy of passport, plus calling the ticketing office which promised to send the e-tickets. Failing which, I called again asking for the e-tickets. The absurd thing was, I saw wrong name in the ticket while the CS insisted she saw the correct names (she spelled the name out to me and it's correct). This went on back and forth, she sent again a few more times which was still with the wrong name. I was fuming already. I asked her: are you opening the pdf file you sent to me and not referring to any other system? Are you opening the correct file? - To which she answered yes. Finally I was put on hold for some time until she figured out (or asked someone else to figure out) what went wrong. She had 2 different copies of the file, she opened the correct one and kept sending to me the old copy.
I know e-tickets are not actually needed, we can nowadays do online check-in and only need passports for verification at the counter. But if I pay for something to get corrected, I would at least want to prove that it is indeed corrected, right?
Wasted 7+37 mins of outgoing calls for this.. *roll eyes*
