ms vmc is in town! I was honored to have dinners with her, 3 days in a row.


monday night - it was a public holiday and a friend invited us to her house to have dinner. she brought the food from a tze char stall in redhill: pork ribs, kailan with oyster sauce, sambal stingray and fish head curry. yummy! it was then followed by citadels game. there were 2 first timers - both came out in first positions, one was on the top and the other at the bottom, hehehe.. (belom kapok kan, bu? :p) had root beer float before we said goodbye.


tuesday night - it's gathering night with our ex-colleagues. a table was booked for 8 people but turned out 2 of us could not make it.. too bad! we missed you both, but yes, life must go on.. so we shared LOTS of xiao long bao, and also dumplings, prawn cake, fried rice with sliced pork, minced meat noodle, stir fried veggie, yam baos, and of course, desserts. what could be better than having a relaxed dinner with friends, sharing stories as well as yummy food!




as the night was still young (albeit being a weekday night - and me having 2 interviews the next day), we moved to brotzeit, a german cafe at raffles city. they had interesting decor using beer bottles and gigantic beer mugs. we ordered beer, apple juice, cafe latte and peppermint tea.




wednesday night - we had dinner at house of soto, east coast road. ordered ayam kremes, mie dhog-dhog and mie soto ayam. not bad, but I like their soto betawi and soto ayam better. tried the cendol too, and it was disappointing. the cendol was brown in color and tasteless. wanted to try their siomay and otak-otak but they're not available.


so we had dessert at a dessert kiosk a few shop houses away. I forgot the shop name but it was quite nice. we shared mango sago and coconut ice cream. the coconut ice cream was unique. they put a scoop of coconut ice cream inside half a coconut shell, and topped it up with green chendol. yummy! too bad I didn't bring my camera with me as it was an impromptu meet up.
