I picked up Dean Koontz' False Memory from a mini library on board Radamis II during our Nile cruise last vacation. Although the initial part was a little bit draggy, it got more engaging going towards the middle part.

I managed to get hold of this novel again recently, thanks to NLB. This novel was really thick, 818 pages in total for the version published by Headline Books. Many hands that have gone through it previously made it look even thicker.

The novel revolved around a couple - a house painter and a video games designer who took care of an agoraphobic friend. soon, the wife was diagnosed with autophobia - fear of oneself. Weird things kept happening to these couple, their friends and also their relatives. Slowly but surely they found clues on their condition, what, or more precisely, who caused it and eventually walked out of it.

'.. But you know what?'
'What?'
'I love my life not because it's a dream, but because it's so real. All our friends, what we do, where we are.. all so real. Am I making any sense?'
'Plenty,' he assured her.
