After a fulfilling buffet breakfast, we went to nearby supermarket to buy some snacks. Collected our luggage and checked-out from hotel, then we went to Westbahnhof for our train to Salzburg, arriving at 1:05pm.
Salzburg main train station was under construction so it looked like a mess. We immediately went to the tourist information center, asked for a city map and was advised to walk to our hotel.
Salzburg indeed is a lovely city to explore on foot.
Itinerary: Schloss Mirabell, Church of the Holy Trinity, little church of St. John, Capuchin Abbey, Getreidegasse - shopping lane and Mozart Geburtshaus, Salzburg Cathedral, Alter Markt Square.
Stumbled upon the oldest bakery in Salzburg (Stiftsbäckerei St. Peter) by chance. The place didn't look attractive at all, we went in because we saw some other people went in. Tried their EUR 0.95 raisin bread - it tasted quite nice.
We took the funicular up to Hohensalzburg Castle. We had a quick tour in the castle, which was built on the highest point of Salzburg.
We had wiener schnitzel and sausages (again) for dinner at Zipfer Bierhaus.
