Songs of the Sea

Finally decided to watch Songs of the Sea after hearing the news that it's going to bid farewell in early next month. Believe it or not, it's been running for 7 years and I have not seen it, not even once. And the 50% discount that ended today sweetened the deal :)

The open air amphitheatre can accommodate 3000 visitors and is divided into premier area with individual orange-colored seats (priced at $18) and standard benches (priced at $15, $12 for residents). Sitting in the benches with free seating arrangement means you can be squeezed left and right anytime as there's no boundaries. And people started walking in when the gate opens, 40 mins before the show. The wait was horrible as it was hot and humid with some flying bugs gracing the night.

The 25-minute show was about the adventure of Li and his 6 friends in trying to awaken a sleeping princess by their singing. In the journey they encountered Lord of Fire, Spirit of Light and Lady of the Sea. They sang for each of them to restore their power and after each attempt there were flame bursts, laser displays and fountain dancing displays.

All in all I was glad I got a chance to see it before it makes way to a brand new performance.
