A Korean BBQ Dinner

After work this evening, I waited 40 mins for my bus and sat through PIE jam plus countless traffic lights before finally reached Nolboo Hangari Galbi at Ngee Ann City. Did not know why the idea of taking the train never crossed my mind.. anyway, lesson learnt.

I was the last one to arrive and was greeted promptly by a cup of good cold korean tea, a small bowl of pumpkin porridge and soon after, a plate of kimchi pancake.

The kimchi pancake was interestingly topped with melted mozzarella, making it a pizza look-alike.. yums! Next came the side dishes (banchan): summer kimchi, regular kimchi, cold bean sprouts, boiled eggs, salad and vegetables. For main course we ordered marinated pork ribs that came with prawns and corns, unmarinated sirloin beef and chicken bulgogi. I liked their pork ribs best.

Each person was served a small glass of black sticky rice with a tiny dollop of coconut milk. Sweet and nice. Too bad we could polish it off only in 2 or 3 scoops.

The restaurant was empty. Throughout our dinner, only 2 other tables were occupied. Service was so-so.. with only 2 waiters around, it's good enough for us that the dishes did not take too long to be served. It's good too that the bbq was done next to our table by the waiter. We could observe the process and we did not come out of the place reeking of bbq smell.

Damage: $37/pax
