accompanied a friend who's missing kolak so much to break his fast this evening at hj. maimunah restaurant at joo chiat. another friend made a call earlier in the afternoon, just to confirm that it is open during this fasting month. the joo chiat branch is open, but we only found out when we arrived there that reservation was required to get a table there since the place is so popular. and it was full house so there was more available table. and they provide buffet dinner instead of the normal ala carte style. so we bought packets of rice and dishes, plus the kolak, of course, and enjoyed the food at a nearby foodcourt :)
