A flight experience

Since there's some extra time during our half day leave today, we decided to use it at Flight Experience located at Singapore Flyer.

We reached there more than an hour before the appointed time and tried our luck. As there's no other customer, we could 'depart' earlier at 11.15am. Upon voucher verification, we were promptly invited to have a seat at the sofa to watch some 5-min briefing video. After which, the pilot greeted us and invited us to enter the cockpit. He did a quick briefing and asked the preferred airport to fly from/to.

3 flights were picked during the 45-minutes session: a circuit flight at Queensland airport, a night flight from Heathrow to London city, and another circuit flight at Paris.

The cockpit looked impressive with its many buttons and levers, knobs and pedals. Thousands of airports around the world can be simulated at will, including the weather conditions. However there's no movement at all, so unless we pay attention to the simulated 'sceneries', there's nothing else to tell that it's supposed to be an aircraft. The graphic was alright, believable albeit not being top notch.

Service was excellent throughout. It's obvious that they are not equipped to handle a crowd, and it's a good thing as it makes the experience more personalized. The pilot that we 'flew' with is knowledgeable, and patiently answered all of our curiosities.

So all in all, great experience at flight experience.
