argggh... I was 'tricked' by Cold St*rage's promotion, for the second time, no less.
last time when I bought a carton of milk, I chose the bigger size due to its promotional price. at the cashier I paid the full amount. when asked, the manager told me that the promotion was only applicable for those with certain expiry dates. and I had taken one with longer shelf life. the fact that all cartons with different expiry dates were displayed in the same shelf clearly did not help.
today I picked a bag of potato chips, discounted from $4.50 to $1.95. I scrutinized the promotion label to make sure there's no expiry date limitation. after paying, I realized I was charged the full price (again!) and I asked the cashier. She told me that only those expiring in Feb 2013 are discounted, the bag in my hand was with expiry date Mar 2013.
to satisfy my curiosity I walked back to the chips aisle and asked another person from the supermarket, who verified that there's indeed no expiry date limitation to the promotion. it took 2 of them to figure out what went wrong: only sour cream & onion and cheese & sour cream flavours are discounted. the one that I took was cheese & bacon flavour. the cheese & sour cream discount label was wrongly displayed in front of the cheese & bacon bags, and I only confirmed it's 'cheese' flavour when taking one, given that there's no more cheese & sour cream available -_-"
fine. no more shopping at cold storage unless it's absolutely necessary..
